너머로 이르는 길 (A road to beyond) -A

그곳을 향해 걸어간다.

아스팔트길은 시멘트길로, 또 자갈길로 바뀐다.
그리고 어느새 갯벌이다.

바다 너머로 먼 육지가 희미하다.
발아래 더 이상 길이 없다.

시간의 밀물은 자꾸만 나를 물러서게 하고
건너지 못하는 바다는 더욱 넓어진다.
머뭇거리며 돌아서다 발을 적시고 만다.

I walk toward it.

The asphalt road changes to a concrete road, and then to a gravel road.
And before I know it, it's a tidal flat.

The distant land is faint beyond the sea.
There is no more road underfoot.

The tide of time keeps pushing me back, and the sea I can't cross becomes wider.
I turn around hesitatingly and get my feet wet.
