- 여행 편지

4월의 어느 날입니다.

나는 따스한 오후 햇살이 내리쬐는
강변의 벤치에 앉아 있습니다.
나른한 공기와,
곁을 스치며 지나가는 봄바람이 있습니다.

조용하고 편안한 시간입니다.

먼 곳을 바라보다가
고개를 들어 보니
작은 그늘과 반짝이는 빛을 만들어 주는 나무가
가지 가득 벚꽃을 안고 있습니다.

자세히 보고 싶지만
눈이 부셔
이내 손그늘을 드리웁니다.

맑은 봄 햇살이
얇은 벚꽃잎을
더 투명하게 만듭니다.

포근한 파란 하늘빛과
공중을 떠다니는 맑은 봄의 향기,
멀리 지나가는 흰 뭉게구름의 풍경이
햇살을 타고
얇은 벚꽃잎을 지나
내 어깨 위로 내려옵니다.

이제야 긴 겨울이
끝나 가는 듯합니다.

- Travel Letter

It is a day in April.

I sit
on a bench by the river,
where warm afternoon light falls.

There is a languid air,
and a spring breeze
brushing past.

It is a quiet,
gentle hour.

I had been looking far—
then I lift my head:

a tree,
holding small shadows and flickers of light,
its branches full
of cherry blossoms.

I want to see more,
but the brightness—
my hand becomes shade.

Clear spring light
makes the thin petals
more transparent.

Soft blue sky,
the drifting scent of spring,
white clouds passing—

they ride the light,
pass through the petals,
and come to rest
upon my shoulder.

Only now,
it feels
as though the long winter
is coming to an end.
