마음속 모닥불 (대화 6) (Bonfire in the mind (Dialogue 6)) -A

길현은 불꽃을 바라보며 잠시 말을 줄이다 다시 이어 나갔다. 

"가능하면 부지깽이를 손에 들고 있으란 이야기라네. 
하지만 그것을 쥐었다고 잘 타는 불을 자꾸 쑤셔대면 연기도 많이 나고 자칫 꺼지기도 하지.

부지깽이는 그저 주변에 불이 크게 나거나 꺼지지 않게 하려고 있는 것일 뿐 자주 쓸 일이 없다네. 
불을 적당히 잘 타게 하고 있으면 그 열기에 이렇게 밝고 따뜻이 지낼 수 있지 않은가?"
 
길현은 이제는 작아진 모닥불에 부지깽이로 쓰던 나뭇가지를 던져 넣었다.

Scott paused for a moment as he looks at the flame, and then continued.

"I am telling you to hold a poker in your hand if possible.
However, just because you hold it, if you keep poking the fire that is burning well, it will make a lot of smoke and may easily go out.
Pokers are not used very often as they are used to prevent fires from going out or spreading around.
If you are keeping the fire burning properly, it will help you stay warm and bright."

Scott threw the tree branch he had used as a poker into the now smaller bonfire.
