신이 나의 행복을 싫어하지 않는다면
행복을 내가 닿을 수 있는 곳에 두었을 것이다.

그것은 드물게 일어나는 시간 속이 아니라
일상 속에 있었을 것이다.

아름다움을 신기함 가운데 두지 않았을 것이다.
소중함을 희귀함 가운데 두지 않았을 것이다.
사랑을 설레임 가운데 두지 않았을 것이다.

그리고
내 마음 한가운데
행복을 담을 그릇을 두었을 것이다.

* Where Happiness Is

If god does not turn away
from my happiness,

then he would have placed it
somewhere
within reach.

Not in the rare
and passing moments,
but in the days
we live through
again and again.

Beauty
would not have been placed
within wonder.

Preciousness
would not have been placed
within rarity.

Love
would not have been placed
within trembling.

And so,

it seems
he has not set happiness
far away—
but has placed it near.

And within me
he has already set in place

a space
prepared
to receive it.
