이별은
헤어짐과 다르다.

헤어진 후라도
그것을 추억하고 있다면
아직 이별은 이루어지지 않았다.

그것을 완전히 잊어버렸을 때
그때가 바로 이별의 순간이다.

헤어짐에 아파할 수 있어도
기억에 없는
이별에는 어떤 아픔도 없다.

이 길을 걷다가 문득
오래전 잊어버린 이별 하나를
기억해 내었다.

나도 모르는 사이,
어떤 이별이
내 삶을 지나가버렸다.

Farewell
is not the same as parting.

Even after parting,
if we still hold it
in our memories,
the farewell has not yet taken place.

Only when we have
completely forgotten it
does the moment of farewell arrive.

We may grieve over parting,
but a farewell
that no longer lives in memory
holds no pain.

As I walked this path,
I suddenly
remembered a farewell
I had forgotten long ago.

Without my knowing,
a certain farewell
had passed through my life.
