"무언가를 만나려면
먼저 길에 올라야 하지 않겠는가?"
길현은 먼 곳에 시선을 두며 문득 말을 꺼냈다.

"저도 그리 생각합니다.
그럼 그 길에 오르려면
어디로 가야 하는 것입니까?"
석파는 잠시 생각하다가 질문을 던졌다.

"길에 이르는 길이란 것은 없다네.
만일 길에 이르는 길이 있다면,
아무도 그 길에 도달하지 못할 것이네."
길현은 무심히 대답했다.

"... ..."

석파는 몇 번이고 질문을 꺼내려다
이내 삼켰다.

잠시의 시간이 흐른 뒤,
석파는 조용히
길현이 바라보는 곳을 함께 바라보았다.

"To truly encounter something,
must one not first step onto the road?"
Scott spoke, his gaze resting in the distance.

"I believe so as well.
Then to step onto that road,
where must one go?"
James asked, after a brief moment of thought.

"There is no road that leads to the road.
If there were such a road,
no one would ever reach it."
Scott replied, almost absent-mindedly.

"... ..."

James tried several times
to give voice to a question,
but each time, he swallowed it.

After a short while,
James quietly
turned his gaze
to where Scott was looking.
