세월은 지나간다.

하지만 어느 곳에는 지나지 않는 세월이 있다.
그것은 하류의 모래 둔처럼 쌓여만 간다.

시간은 강물처럼 흐른다.

그것은 빠르거나 느리게,
때로는 앞으로...
때로는 거꾸로 흐르기도 했을 것이다.

어느 곳에서는 아래로 떨어지거나,
혹은 고여 있던 적도 있었으리라.

Time and tide
move on.

And yet,
there are places
where they do not pass—

where they gather,
like sand
along the lower reaches.

Time and tide
flow
like a river.

At times
swift,
at times slow,

at times
pressing forward...
at times
turning back.

In some places,
they may have fallen,
or come to rest,
held in stillness.
