지금 여기에
들장미가 피어 있다.

오래된 집들이
철거되고 있었다.

주차장 한켠
지붕을 훌쩍 넘던
벚꽃나무도 넘어졌다.

사람들은 떠나고
건물과
나무들이 사라져갔다.

며칠 전
아무도 보지 않은 구석에서
들장미가 피었다.

부드러운 봄바람이 불고
맑은 햇살이
투명한 꽃잎에 머물러 있다.

가을이 오기 전에
모두 사라질 것이다.
아무도 상관하지 않을 것이다.

하지만
지금, 여기,
들장미가 피어 있다.

* Now, Here - A Walk and Its Reflections

Here, now,
a wild rose is in bloom.

The old houses
were being torn down.

In one corner of the parking lot,
the cherry tree
that once rose above the roof
has fallen.

People have left,
and buildings
and trees
have slowly disappeared.

A few days ago,
in a corner
no one was looking at,
a wild rose came into bloom.

A gentle spring breeze is passing,
and clear sunlight
rests upon
the translucent petals.

Before autumn comes,
all of this will be gone.
No one will mind.

And yet,
now, here,
a wild rose is in bloom.
